A project that started with a printed attendance sheet
Eventrix began as a Software Engineering Lab project at the University of Asia Pacific. Before writing a line of code, the team surveyed the people who actually live the problem: 28 participants, 8 organizers, and 4 administrators and financial staff — the last group interviewed in person, on paper, with signatures.
What came back was unambiguous. Every organizer surveyed still made certificates by hand in Photoshop, Canva or mail merge. Seven in eight still checked attendees in by searching a printed spreadsheet. More than half of participants had been asked, at some point, to prove a certificate was real — and had no way to do it.
The objective
Collapse four disconnected tools — forms, spreadsheets, paper lists and design software — into one lifecycle where each stage feeds the next.
The method
Structured requirement elicitation: online questionnaires for students and organizers, a signed in-person questionnaire for institutional authority.
The outcome
Nine functional and four non-functional requirements, prioritized with MoSCoW, each traceable to a quantified stakeholder finding.

Independently reviewed
The requirement specification was reviewed and signed off by Bayzid Himel, Senior Software Engineer at Penough Ltd., who recommended formalising role-based access control, certificate lifecycle controls and tenant isolation before API design — recommendations reflected throughout this frontend.
